Most folks tell seasons by the month of the year, I, on the other hand, prefer to use my nose. And that morning my nose was going wild, signaling the start of my favourite season. Still half asleep - all cosy in my blanket… but my nose… my nose was twitching wildly with the heady smell of petrichor… and then my ears twitched at a welcome sound – pitter-patter-pitter-patter…  And that did it!!

I sat up and with a leap landed on the big bed ..sprawling across Mom and Dad and licking them awake.  Woof! Woof! Wake UP Wake UP Woof! I said…
‘C’mon Mom, … Dad.. I smell it, I hear it… its raining… let’s go…  time for a walk !!’

Finally, the humans moved towards the door! It was drizzling and there was a nip in the air.
Now, You know what Moms are like... she made me wear my yellow raincoat! Ugh!! So much better just to get drenched!!
At least the yellow monstrosity enclosed only my body!! ..
My nose was FREE to  take in all the fresh exotic smells.
… And out we went to explore.

Sniff here, sniff there, leave a scent here and a wee bit there… THIS is the Life !!….  New smells, new experiences.
Oh look what have we here… my very own humungous fresh rainwater pool!! Cannonball Time!! And …

Splaaaaash !!! Splooooosh!!!  Ahhhhhhh…The Raincoat is now all nice and wet and muddy too!!!
The Raincoat is now all nice and wet and muddy too!!!
Mom, why are you yelling?? Dad, what are you laughing at??  Do you two want to get in too?? This is so much fun!! Now on my belly, now on my back, wiggle back and forth, Love this mud pack!!

Stepping out now, it’s time to move on.  I look like my name, Oreo, all vanilla and brown. At least that’s got Mom and Dad in splits!! I join them, my dripping tail… all a-wagging and the rest of me… all a-bouncing with joy.

Mom says, “We all know where we have to go next!!” and smiles at me.  I LOVE what comes next – a trip to “Grooming Tales” for a pampered spa to clean me up. Hannah’s mumma runs Grooming Tales. she has the Best Treats, the kindest words, the gentlest hands and Knows exactly the right spots to scratch!! I love to spend time at her spa… and my tail just won’t stop wagging!!

Mom must have called ahead because Hannah’s mumma was waiting- bubbles and all.
. I was ready to give up my mud and surrendered to the bliss of being cleaned, dried, groomed and pampered.

I think I actually sparkled when she was all done!! She gave me her special treats and a kiss and said, “Oreo, now you are all clean… ready for your next puddle!!” I happily woofed and gave her a grateful lick. “What a good boy Oreo” she said patting my head and ruffling my ears.
A morning well-spent, we headed back home… tired and happy. I drifted off to sleep and unknown to Mom and Dad,…. dreamed of more monsoon masti!!
